It's not."

-Dr. Seuss

Mission

Speaks for Trees and More is a nonprofit organization providing educational nature-based & environmental programming and workshops to the community. And, it is through these opportunities that we bring awareness to related topics that need our care & attention and ultimately why [to care about it/them].

Donate

With a gift of $80, you can sponsor a program for an entire classroom at a local school or youth group in the community.

Introduction

Speaks for Trees and More was established in 2022, as my personal journey continued to evolve.  And, as I pursue a Bachelor of Science in Sustainability with an Environmental Science concentration, serve as a certified Advanced Indiana Master Naturalist, certified Leave No Trace Member and Community Partner, Lifetime Girl Scout and local 4-H Club Leader, I aspire to inspire! I love our natural world and hope to share something new or reintroduce you to something always known, but forgotten. Let's explore this big, beautiful planet together through education, play, creativity or a simple hike through the woods!

Have you ever pondered inviting a Naturalist to your event or activity or host a Leave No Trace Awareness Workshop? I am available to visit your classroom, scout group, club, birthday party, or meet at any of the surrounding beautiful parks or preserves!

Have a natural or environmental topic in mind? Let me know! I can customize any nature-based or outdoor experience based on curriculum standards or simply a favorite interest in whatever you're finding out there in the natural world! Or check out our scheduled program offerings below!

Looking forward to seeing you soon - among the trees!

Testimonials

"Speaks for Trees and More is a wonderful nonprofit organization that provides enriching experiences for students of all ages. We have personally benefited from multiple programs hosted by this organization and anxiously await event listings. Each event provides focused, engaging lessons that benefit students as well as those in our community, instilling a love of nature, providing understanding of our environment, and promoting greater respect for wildlife and the ecosystems around us. Empowering children to use their knowledge for the greater good both now and in the future is an incredible stepping stone to creating a richer world personally and globally. Working through Speaks for Trees and More brings us all closer to achieving that goal. I would highly recommend participation in the many outreach opportunities provided. The passion behind this project will be evident as soon as the event begins."

“I’ve worked with Sarah during three of her week-long summer day camps, as well as the fossil and mason bee educational programs. She is professional, enthusiastic, and organized. The educational activities are well researched and presented. Topics are based on nature and environment with an emphasis on why they are important to us and why we need to care for them. Day camp topics change from year to year so there is always something new and exciting to learn about. I highly recommend for any child!"

-Dora, Volunteer

“I am a fellow Indiana Master Naturalist and have volunteered at Sarah’s nature camp for three years, going on four this summer. I have truly been blown away by her passion for nature and dedication to instilling the love for it to our next generation. She chooses different fascinating topics of interest every year to ensure repeat campers are learning new things and does a great job selecting other passionate naturalists to teach the programs. I have experienced uninspired kids come to camp and walk away loving something we helped foster about nature - a true win in my book! Sarah is a fantastic leader, is one of the most organized and detail oriented people I’ve worked with, and her ability to create and execute a big picture program is astounding. She is direct, easy to work with, and I appreciate her openness to other’s ideas. Nature is lucky to have her as its advocate!”

-Ashley, Volunteer & Parent

”I had an amazing experience volunteering as an instructor at nature camp. The camp was exceptionally well-organized, with clear communication every step of the way. The activities were thoughtfully prepared and engaging, not only for the kids but for me as well. It was a joy to see the children so excited to learn and explore the outdoors. I highly recommend the camp for anyone looking for a fun, educational, and smoothly run program!"

-Torree, Volunteer & Parent

“Great Nature Camp!! Summer Nature Camp was very well organized. The children were so excited to experience nature and participate in the hands-on demonstrations. For example, the children connected with the discussion on soil: its composition, function, and how we can protect it. Each day was packed full of new discussions on new topics. For me personally, it was a very special week. It left me feeling very optimistic to see the passions of the young children and their desire to protect the Earth.”
